Prehistoric Farm Beginner Guide: Your First Dinosaur
Start Prehistoric Farm with the official dig-to-dinosaur loop: complete a fossil set, visit Dr. Ivy, incubate an egg and keep your hatchling fed.
How should you start Prehistoric Farm?
Complete one fossil set, turn it into an egg at Dr. Ivy’s DNA Lab, incubate it, then keep the dinosaur’s belly over half full. That is the progression described by Project Mirvy. Focus on learning these transitions before treating every island or purchase as your next objective.
1. Open the correct experience
Use Prehistoric Farm by Project Mirvy, place 139780970631001. The official listing states PC, mobile and console support. Follow your device’s actual prompts; the creator’s public instructions do not give a complete keyboard or controller table. Launch help explains the external client flow.
2. Learn the green-zone dig
The developer tells players to hold the shovel on a dig site, then release when the meter is green for a better find. Watch a whole timing cycle so you can identify that region before trying to improve your result. A better find is not a published guarantee of a specific rare fossil.
As pieces arrive, inspect the collection display for the set you want to complete. Pieces from different sets should not be assumed to finish one combined requirement. Exact quantities are not established by the listing; use the current game display. See fossils and the DNA Lab before spending or selling pieces you still need.
3. Take the complete set to Dr. Ivy
A full fossil set is the stated requirement for growing an egg at the DNA Lab. Check the current lab prompts and resulting inventory. The lab produces an egg; incubation is a separate stage. Do not interpret an acquired egg as a hatched dinosaur.
4. Start incubation, then inspect care
Warm the egg in an incubator and follow its current timer and hatch prompt. This guide does not assign a universal incubation duration. When the creature hatches, inspect its belly and feeding instructions. The developer says fullness must remain above half to keep growth going.
Your first useful goal is a dinosaur actively receiving care, rather than an assumed instant ride. The public instructions say to ride a grown partner; they do not establish which intermediate life stage first allows riding. Eggs and growth separates those checks.
5. Pick one next trip
Once you understand the first loop, choose a concrete collection or exploration goal. Inspect the actual boat and tool requirements and keep ranch care in mind. The exploration guide covers the activities the developer advertises without guessing their unlock prices.
Use the session checklist to track your own progress. Codes are optional reports to investigate separately; our code reference does not promise a successful payout.
Sources and scope
Based on the official Project Mirvy experience description, checked October 12, 2026. The instructions establish the main loop, not exact prices, drop rates or timers. This is a source-based guide, not an independently tested playthrough.
